Brenda grew up in Riverview, New Brunswick and moved to Halifax in 1987 to attend Saint Mary’s University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Honors in Psychology in 1991. Brenda brings over 20 years of financial recovery experience to Salyzyn & Associates Limited. She is an Insolvency Counsellor and earned her Licensed Insolvency Trustee designation in 2006 after successful completion of the National Insolvency Exam. Brenda enjoys providing the education and tools needed by debtors to assist them in their financial recovery plan.
For the past 10 years Brenda has committed many hours as a volunteer with the Canadian Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP). She is the past chair and a current member of the Course Material Review Committee for the Canadian Insolvency & Restructuring Professionals Qualification Program (CQP). Brenda was recognized for her volunteer efforts with the CAIRP Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2012. Additionally, Brenda is the past Treasurer of the Enfield District School Parent Teacher Action Group and is currently Fundraising Chair for Corridor Minor Baseball Association.
Brenda is the first vice-president of the Atlantic Canada Network of the International Woman’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation.
When not camping, Brenda can be seen cheering on her sons’ East Hants Penguins hockey team and Nationals Baseball team.
